Currently the leading producers of tequila companies offer tours where you can see the process of how this drink is made. There are many ways to take these tours; some can walk, by train, and others are in special vehicles. Born in Monterrey, N.L. in the early 80’s as an initiative of SENEAM and Air Traffic Control-FAA. The original name for this seminar was “Friendship Operation” and was created with the purpose of guiding and familiarizing pilots from the northeast region of the country about basic procedures on air traffic control and regulation of United States of America. Eventually, as recommendation and request of the aeronautical authorities from both countries, the title of the seminar was decided to change to Aviation Safety Seminar “Amigos de la Aviación” and decided to be organized mainly by the General Direction of Civil Aviation (DGAC in Spanish), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). At the present time, there had been 28 editions of this seminar with different venues such as Monterrey, Queretaro, Cozumel, Guadalajara and also San Antonio, Laredo, San Diego amongst others.
Aviation Safety Seminar has as a purpose to give actual information to technical staff, general aviation operators, air taxis and aeronautical workshops about regulations, technological advances and equipment requirements for aircraft such as RVSM, TCAS, EGPWS, FDR-CVR and others.
We have the participation of aeronautical authorities from Mexico and United States, custom and migration service authorities, Homeland Security, airports administrators such as from North Airport, San Antonio and Laredo Airport, Texas Airport; besides all staff related to airport services, aviation schools and experts from the aeronautical and academic industry such as UNAQ and UANL since this event provides to students from different careers in the industry, the opportunity to develop and find job opportunities.
One of the main achievements in this seminar has been to obtain the FAA authorization to perform tests to obtain American License to private pilots and mechanics without having to travel to the United States.
Furthermore, recently the FAA has authorized that Central American countries submit their license applications in Mexico. Therefore the presence of participants from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Costa Rica, Colombia and Chile is also expected.
